Elementary Staff
Juanita Leedy
Mrs. Leedy has been in the classroom for over 52 years, and says that it has been an honor and a privilege to help shape young lives and point them to Jesus.
Mrs. Leedy married her college sweetheart, Pastor Ken Leedy, and together they had two children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren! The Lord allowed the Leedy's to serve Him in their marriage for 57 years, before God called Pastor Leedy home.
Mrs. Leedy has a unique talent for ventriloquism and enjoys working with puppets.
Pam Skeen
Pam is a 1980 graduate of Heritage and feels blessed to be teaching at her alma mater. She finds it truly rewarding to to shape young lives and to fulfil the mission of Christian education.
Pam has been teaching for 28 years and holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.
One of the highlights of teaching is that of being able to teach American Sign Language to her students.
Pam lives in Evans with her cat, and enjoys crocheting and playing the piano.

Kathy Curry
Kathy was saved at the age of 19, at a revival meeting at church. She is a mom of 4 and a grandmother of 16! She credits her family for instilling in her the importance of hard work, compassion, and dedication. These are values that she strives to share with her students on a daily basis.
Her goal in teaching is to build a strong spiritual foundation in her students by helping them grow in wisdom, faith, and character. She is grateful for the opportunity to mentor students and share God's love and teachings with them. By integrating Biblical principles into her lessons, she aims to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to succeed in life and fulfill their divine purpose.
Karen Owen
Karen is new to the HCA family this year. She was saved in April of 1999 and has sought to serve Jesus ever since.
Karen has more than 20 years of teaching experience and holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Educational Leadership through Crown College of the Bible.
A native New Englander, Karen moved to West Virginia nearly three years ago to be closer to family. She resides in Ravenswood with her 12 year old daughter Micaiah, her dog Koda, and her cat Percy.
Hiking, photography, sourdough, and gardening are some of her simple pleasures; she loves the ocean and lots of snow!
Emily Scrichfield
Emily is a 2016 graduate of HCA. Her attendance at the school led to her salvation at the age of 18. After graduation, she went on to earn her Bachelors in Elementary Education from WVUP, along with her Bible certificate from Massillon Baptist College.
She is married to her best friend, Adam and together they have two beautiful children, Nicholas and Olivia.
Emily is both principal and teacher. She loves teaching at Heritage because it gives her the freedom to guide children in the way of the Lord.
When she isn't busy with the school, she enjoys reading, walking, and playing with her kids.
Glen Taylor
Mr. Taylor is our resident wearer-of-many-hats. From Algebra to athletics, he keeps the school running with practicality and a trademark look of mild inconvenience.
Not only does he coordinate our sports teams, but he runs our yearly egg fundraiser with great precision. His expression says "absolutely not," but his actions say "I already took care of it."
Mr. Taylor is basically the school’s Swiss Army knife… with a calculator.
